However, even with the slowdowns, Afrobeats has continued proving its staying power on the world's stage, recruiting solidified 7.69% of the world's music economy for itself, in essence establishing a credible argument for continuing appeal and cross-border influence.

The scope and reach of Afrobeats could hardly be larger. Its sweet rhythms and enchanting melodies touch every listener across the world. In a rare continuation over the past year, the genre commanded by airwaves slowly established itself in mainstream pop culture while keeping a score internationally. This is a fusion of traditional African sounds with contemporary global influences that is truly transforming into a powerhouse: Afrobeats continues to unite cultures and give birth to electricity-powered collaborations with artists worldwide. 

The year 2024 also tends to have a healthy dose of creativity in the Afrobeats, with transformative experimentation done by many of the leading names along with fresh talents trying to create fresh sounds using ground-breaking collaborations. Seun Kuti, son of legendary Fela Kuti, continues his father's legacy, blending traditional Yoruba music with contemporary styles. His inclusion on the lineup shows Coachella's commitment to showcasing diverse and innovative artists.

Tyla, who rose to fame with her soulful voice and introspective lyrics, will make her Coachella debut alongside other exciting newcomers.

Amaarae, known for her genre-bending sound, which blends Afrobeats, soul, and electronic elements, will represent Ghanaian music on the global stage.

Other notable performers include Lady Gaga, Green Day, Post Malone, Megan Thee Stallion, Junior H amongst others.

Meanwhile, Coachella 2025 will take place over two weekends: April 11-13 and April 18-20, at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Presale tickets go on sale November 22 at 11 am PT.

South African music star Tyla, born Tyla Laura Seethal, emerged as one of the standout winners at the 2024 MTV Europe Music Awards.

Held in Manchester, England, on November 10, 2024, the event marked the EMAs’ 30th anniversary, making a triumphant return after last year's cancellation in Paris due to the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The 22-year-old artist had a remarkable night, clinching three out of four possible awards: Best Afrobeats Act, where she triumphed over icons like Burna Boy, Asake, Ayra Starr, and Tems; "Best African Act", winning against talents such as Ayra Starr, DBN Gogo, Diamond Platnumz, and TitoM & Yuppe; and "Best R&B Act", where she bested American stars Kehlani, SZA, Tinashe, Usher, and Victoria Monét.
